Fresh & Colorful Still Life is a vibrant oil pastel painting inspired by Fauvist art and the expressive beauty of fresh citrus fruit. The composition features a round blue plate holding a whole yellow lemon with a brown stem and delicate green leaves, three circular lemon slices, and a halved lemon arranged in a playful, graphic composition. A single green leaf rests beside the plate on a black-and-white striped cloth, adding a natural contrast to the bold geometric patterns. Behind the still life, blocks of vivid orange, pink, and magenta create a striking contemporary background that enhances the brightness of the yellow lemons and deep blue plate.
Heavy black outlines define each shape, giving the artwork a distinctive modern still life and decorative character, while thick, expressive oil pastel strokes create a rich tactile surface and emphasize the handmade quality of the artwork. The contrasting colors—sunny yellow, cobalt blue, fresh green, vibrant orange, hot pink, and magenta—create a cheerful and energetic visual rhythm. The Fauvist-inspired approach transforms a simple arrangement of lemons into an expressive celebration of color, texture, and everyday food.

This colorful fruit artwork is ideal for a kitchen, dining room, breakfast nook, café, restaurant, or contemporary living space. It can bring freshness, warmth, and playful personality to interiors while complementing colorful, eclectic, modern, retro, or contemporary décor. A lively choice for collectors who enjoy oil pastel art, lemon paintings, citrus art, colorful still life, Fauvist-inspired artwork, food art, fruit paintings, and bold decorative wall art.
